If seeing your favorite band live is cool and getting to hang out backstage and talk with them for a few minutes after the show is REALLY cool, then how can you possibly describe what it feels like to go out on the road with the band you idolize for SIX WEEKS?!? Just ask SKULLSHIFTER lead guitarist CJ Scioscia. CJ, a rabid NAPALM DEATH fan since the early days of the grindcore pioneers' career, landed a fan's dream job as a road tech on the band's current assault of North America.
No stranger to the challenges and rigors of whirlwind touring, CJ also holds the esteemed position of Road Manager for legendary NY band The DICTATORS. For those of you who don't know The DICTATORS, you should...because the band features none other than Ross The Boss -- formerly of metal titans MANOWAR -- on lead guitar. (And by the way, Ross still shreds like a mutha! Just seeing and hearing this true Metal Monster warm up on the occasional MANOWAR lick backstage is enough to send fists flying into the air!)
Having begun recording their debut CD Inner Demons in August, SKULLSHIFTER will be taking a break from the studio until CJ's return in late November. Back in NJ, the rest of the SKULLSHIFTER line-up (Tom, Danny and J) are using the downtime to begin work on new material and continue rehearsing existing songs to keep them sharp and ready for upcoming live performances.
